The Corporation Bureau of the Department of State offers a business entity search (by name or entity ID) and a UCC filing search (by Standard RA9, Non-Standard RA9 and file number). Private Companies

Unlike public companies, private companies are not required to file with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) so the information that can be found in those documents is not necessarily available for companies that are private.  However, private companies deciding to go public file a Form S-1 with the SEC.  This document provides details about the private company, including revenue, profits, executive compensation, legal proceedings, and market share.
