LinkedIn Learning, formerly Lynda.com, has over 10,000 courses in its library taught by hundreds of industry leaders and top instructors. New courses are added constantly and include the fields of business, creative, and technology. Once you complete courses, you can add certificates to your LinkedIn account that prove your skills and build your professional brand.
LinkedIn Learning has a video for everything, even learning how to use LinkedIn Learning! The How to Use LinkedIn Learning course is an in-depth guide to all of the features of your LinkedIn Learning account. The player has two parts: the viewer and the side menu.
The LinkedIn Learning viewer has video controls along the bottom of the browser window. You can use these to play/pause the video, move forward and backward on the timeline, rewind 10 seconds, adjust playback speed, change volume, and use closed captions. This is also where the settings can be changed.
The side menu has 5 tabs
The LinkedIn Learning library offers a variety of courses. Below are some that we recommend to help with your coursework and future career.
Learn how to manage your career, from your first job search to moving up in your career to switching careers. Get the skills you need to grow your network, write a resume, interview, get a job, and get promoted.
After logging into myWidener, search for LinkedIn Learning and select the task. This will open your personal LinkedIn Learning account where you have access to their videos and all associated content including exercise files.
The top bar of the LinkedIn Learning homepage contains all of their search features.
The first option from the left is the Browse drop-down menu. This menu is divided into the three fields covered by LinkedIn Learning: business, creative, and technology. Each of these fields is divided into courses for related subjects, software, and learning paths.
If you know what subjects, software, or skills you're interested in learning, you can use the search bar to find specific content. Your results can be filtered by skill level, software, and subject. This is a great way to find courses on skills that can help you in your college and professional careers.
You can keep track of your content with the account controls on the far right of the top menu. All courses that you have begun can be found under "In Progress" until they are completed. With your LinkedIn Learning account you have the option to save content that you're interested in and organize them in collections. You can also connect your LinkedIn account to LinkedIn Learning to feature your completion certificates on your professional profile.
