Available Resources for your Job Search and How to Use Them

Westlaw

Westlaw Profiler is available at Westlaw Next through the "Directories" link or on Westlaw Classic through the PROFILER-WLD database. Similar to Martindale-Hubbell, the Westlaw Profiler database allows you to search on lawyers by location, practice area, and other selected fields. 

From the Job Search page on Westlaw's "Career Focus" tab there are links to the following:

LexisNexis

Law firm, and lawyer profile information is available by searching Martindale-Hubbell.  Lists of contact information can be generated by location, practice area, and where a lawyer attended law school.  Available on the "Career Help" tab from the login-page, or through Lexis.com by clicking on the Martindale-Hubbell listings link on the "Legal" tab.

Bloomberg Law

Under the Search & Browse tab on the home page, a search of "people" can be conducted on a variety of fields including location, education, and industry to generate a list of professional contacts.

The "career insights" link on the home page under the Law School Resources heading has articles related to networking, interviewing, and job search strategies.

Library Databases

The D & B Million Dollar Directory:  Searches can be run on companies (including law firms,) to locate potential professional contacts and job leads.  Search fields include company/firm name, location, industry, contact position in firm.
